NEWS AND UPDATES . . . . . .

If you have information or up-dates that you want included in the registration bags that everyone will receive at the Celebration, Gerri needs it by June 26.

Don't forget to submit your entry for the Hobsonite Directory.  Your contact information and an up-date on what you've been up to can be submitted at the Centennial or e-mailed to Gerri ballyhoo@ballyhooprinting.com.  The directory will be published following the Celebration so as many people as possible can be included.  The directory price of $10 includes shipping it to you.

Memorabilia - the collectible plates, postcards, shirts, hats, totes, pins, magnets, mugs and cookbooks will all be available at the Celebration Special Centennial Postal Cancellations will be available at the Post Office on July 4.

Lori Stevenson is going to our post Celebration photo person.  She will coordinate all of Nancy McDonald's candid photos to be available to everyone via Shutterfly as well as make it possible to add the pictures you take to share with everyone.  AND she's going to make a hard cover photo book that will be available for purchase. Watch your registration bag and www.hobsonreunion.com for more information

GAMES - this is new to our schedule and even the rally.  Dale and Suzy Uhler are organizing games to offer added fun for participants and spectators.  They're seeking folks to coordinate games such as a sack race, three legged race, tug of war, etc.  If a person or family will take on one game, this will be a do-able, wonderful part of the Celebration. Contact Uhlers 423-5502

Craft Show - More craft booths are being sought.  Traci Mikkelsen 423-5366
Local Artists as well as those traveling "home" are invited to display their artwork at the School.  Note that this is a new listing on the schedule.  The venue will be attended, offering a safe place for showing off your fine talents.  If you are interested in participating, please contact Sarah Arnott Ozment.  We will also have the collection of Hobson Annuals on display for your reminiscing, laughter and enjoyment.  Open Thursday 3:00 - 6:30 and Friday & Saturday 9:00 - 5:00.

The basketball tournament is open to everyone, you need not be alumni to participate.  For a taste of nostalgia, games will be in the old gym.

Soap Box Derby - Hopefully you're all working on your cars!  This is returning a great tradition to Hobson.  The Hobson Endowment Board has modified the rules to allow immediate family members to compete with the same car.  In addition, do not be concerned with the weight of the car.  Remember even adults can participate!  Bill Hesselbart is also seeking some folks to help out during the derby, particularly to help haul cars back up the hill, judging, lining up and starting.  423-5369

Fashion Show - Marilyn Deichmann reports a great show of fashions through the decades taking shape!  If you have clothing, particularly letter sweaters or jackets, give her a call.  She also needs models, men and women, sizes 00 to 12 as well as some folks to help dressing and handling the clothing.  423-5500

Variety Show - Gather your talents and participate in the Variety Show.  Still room!  Bill Hesselbart 423-5369

Celebration Sunday - Pastor Bill is getting a great service lined up.  He's seeking more singers and would also like some brass players.  This will also be the wrap-up of the event, so anything you're needing summarized or awarded, let Bill know.  423-5597
